I have always wanted to share my collection of game used/issued equipment on one of these Weekend Update posts. Today seemed like as good a day as any. All of these items were purchased at various Maple Leafs equipment sales put on by the team. Four to five years ago, the sales weren't that big and you could pop in and get a set of gloves for $20 or game used Marlies sweaters for $50. Now they realize that they are selling collector's items and those gloves are now $100 and the sweaters range from $400 to $2000. You can click on any of these images to enlarge them a bit.

This is the crown jewel of my collection.
It's my game worn #59 Keith Aulie jersey. From the 2010-11 season, it's road set #2 and was issued to Aulie around February 2011. If you love hockey jerseys I would very much recommend that you save your money at least one time and purchase a game worn jersey. It will change your whole perspective on what Reebok sells as "replica" and "authentic". You can see my entire jersey collection by clicking the link on the side of the page.

Next up are a pair of Reebok gloves.
These were purchased off of a table of "heavily used" items. I was able to purchase them for $10. One of the gloves has been re-palmed, but for a once a week beer leaguer like me they are excellent. They feature the #4 written inside the palm. My guess is a player tried these for a preseason game or two and then decided they didn't like them. The only Leaf to wear #4 while this style of glove was in use was Jeff Finger. Or perhaps it was a Marlie who used them?

Here we have two pairs of pants.
I got these at the same sale that I purchased the gloves. These were also on the "heavily used" items table. The pair on the right are goalie pants with the #75 written inside in Sharpie marker. The only Leafs goalie to wear #75 (to my knowledge) was Andrew Engelage, who wore that number during a Leafs' skills competition and then later as a 3rd goalie with the Marlies. The player pants are Easton pants and have no player markings on them. They may have been sent to the team by Easton and no player liked them. I like them and both pairs were purchased for $20 each. I added the laces and suspenders on both pairs.

Here we have some socks and a bag.
The white road pair of socks are from the 2008-09 season. The home blue socks and the black practice socks are from the 2011-12 season. They're $10 a pair and the Leafs sell them in RealSports during game days. I purchased these though at a regular equipment sale. This is what I purchase after prices sky rocket. Since wearing Edge socks, I can never go back to wool socks ever again...except when playing in net. The mesh bag belonged to Matt Lashoff during his time with the Leafs and Marlies. I got it because it was $15 and had the #29 on it, my goalie number.

Mikael Tellqvist game used/issued sticks
For whatever reason I have always liked very average back-up Leafs goalies. Mark Laforest, Jeff Reese, Damian Rhodes, Marcel Cousineau, Mikael Tellqvist. Tellqvist spent most of his career in Toronto, but then moved on to Phoenix and Buffalo and now plays in the KHL. The silver KOHO is from the 2003-04 season. The beige CCM is from the 2005-06 season and is my favourite of the batch. The blue CCM Vector was issued to him for the 2005-06 season, but it was never used so I use it when I play goal. They're not different sizes, that is just the way they are leaned up against the wall. Each of these sticks was purchased for $100.

That's my Maple Leafs game used/issued equipment collection. What did you guys think? If you have a collection like this, take one picture of it and send it in. Even do a little write up about it and we'll post it here, just like a regular concept.

The Icehogs just put on a sale like the Leafs' ones like a month ago. By the time I got there most of the interesting stuff was gone.

There were game used jerseys by guys like Ben Smith and Andrew Shaw that were going for a pretty penny.

Came to find out had I got there on time I could have gotten an Andrew Shaw helmet for $40.

But you're right about the game used jerseys. The jersey the Sarnia Sting gave me with my design on it is an authentic style jersey and I compared it to one of the Reebok Premier jerseys I have. The fabric used as well as the cut of the jersey is way different than what I was expecting.
