Sunday: Mister and his Misses

Happy Sunday, Ladies and Gents.

As you can probably tell by my trademark greeting. This isn't you typical Sunday writer, Steve, but rather your Wednesday writer Justin at the helm today. That's because Steve has more important things to do...

My apologies to the female readers of HJC, but our dear Steve is officially off the market after tying the knot with his beautiful bride last night. In true HJC form, Steve went all out wearing the unofficial HJC uniform as he said "I do." Either that or Friend of the Show BPoe snagged a picture and photoshopped it, but who are we to say.

All kidding aside, Congratulations Steve! All the best to Steve and Kaitlyn as they begin their future together.

On to the concepts!
Jay S.- Worcester Railers
Jay takes us to Worcester (pronounced Wooster, because why would the English language make sense?) to start us off with a Railers concept. This design works well enough, but I think the hem pattern would need to be simplified to be effective. Something more like what the Avalanche currently wear. Would also be nice to see the numbers have an offset grey stroke to play off the striping.

Overall Rating: 8.0/10
Not too shabby, but the hem is just a bit too adventurous for the rest of the set.

Mac W.- Manitoba Moose
Don't think I've seen something from Mac before, so welcome to the site. While I don't mind the idea of drawing from the parent club with the full length yoke combined with arm striping, I think this one misses the mark. The grey is too dark to be effective and competes with light blue for the secondary status on the primaries. That being said, the alternate is a beauty and I actually like the look the dark grey there. Excellent choice of #OB font. The moose in anything else would be a travesty.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10
A really nice alt, but one that can't erase the faults of the primaries.

Matt G.Michigan Wolverines
Matt gives us a second look at his entry in our Michigan redesign competition; one of the better entries if you ask me. Love the white-less looks for both the home and road and the alternates are both fantastic. The first alternate is exactly what I would want the Wolverines to do with a white jersey and you can't help but love maize faux-back. ON the primaries, I wish the hem would match the arms or at least have an additional stripe to partially match (like the Flyers did with their Winter Classic Sweater). Number font isn't my favourite either, but beyond those two things I'm not sure there's anything I'd change.

Overall Rating: 9.0/10
Just a couple tweaks away from being an ideal set for That Team Up North.

TC Moore.-Miami Dolphins (NFL)
Nice, simple, well-balance, and a beautiful colour scheme. Not much more you could ask for out of TC's look for the the Miami dolphins of the NFL. Love the double teal on that alt too, makes an already great colour scheme somehow better. On Matt's set, I had two small tweaks to push it towards perfection, but I think we're already there. Great work, TC!

Overall Rating: 10/10
Been awhile since I gave out a perfecto. But I think our boy TC deserves it here.

That's all for today folks.
